Pastor Jackson served as an associate minister at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Rankin, Pennsylvania. She was called by God Almighty into ministry to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in April, 1999. She was licensed on November 22, 2002 and ordained on May 7, 2004 under the leadership of Reverend Wanda L. Sawyer, Senior Pastor.  Reverend Jackson served in many capacities during her tenure of 14 years at Emmanuel. She served as Assistant to the Senior Pastor, Armor Bearer to the Senior Pastor; Spiritual Leader of the Women of Wisdom Ministry, an adult Sunday school teacher, evening and noon day Bible study teacher in the absence of the Senior Pastor, New Disciples teacher and also served on the Altar Prayer Ministry.  From June, 2009 to December, 2014 Reverend Jackson was employed as office manager of the Emmanuel Baptist Church Administrative office.
 
After having a desire for a deeper understanding of the things of God and for a greater theological concept for ministry, Reverend Jackson enrolled in and attended the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry (CUBM), Geneva College Pittsburgh Branch in the fall of 2005.  She graduated May 7, 2010 with an Associate of Arts degree in Christian Ministry with the Honors of Valedictorian of her class.  She furthered her education in the Geneva College Degree Completion Program and received a Bachelor’s degree in Community Ministry on May 5, 2012 with a 3.7 GPA.
 
With a vision and mission to preach and teach the Good News, witness and reach souls for Christ, God gifted and inspired Reverend Jackson with the opportunity of a teaching ministry, in which the Growing in God ministry was birthed in October, 2011.  From this Ministry God birthed the Growing in God Non-Denominational Church.
 
We proudly announce that on February 7, 2015 God blessed our Pastor with the honor as founder and under shepherd of the Growing in God Non-Denominational Church where she teaches and proclaims the anointed Word of God powerfully in the name of our Lord and Savior in the Turtle Creek area of the city.
 
Reverend Jackson is a retiree of the Pittsburgh Public School District, School Management Office of Administration where she was employed for 37 years.  She presently works as a Substitute Instructor for the Steel Center Career and Technical Education School and previously served for 4 years on the advisory board of the Computer Information System Department. Reverend Jackson presently serves on the Center for Spirituality Board of Directors.
 
Reverend Jackson was born and raised in the Lawrenceville community of Pittsburgh.  She and her husband Ernest Sr. presently resides in the Verona section of the city and has been for the past 41 years.  She is the mother of one son, Ernest Jr. (Cynthia), one daughter, Tiffany E. Nobles (Douglas) of Columbus, Ohio; step mother of 3 daughters and grandmother of three grandsons:  Airmen Jamal Jordan, Tyler Jackson and Jackson Nobles. 
 
At her leisure time she loves to read, watch the Pittsburgh Pirates, attend a game or two, dine-out, travel and encourage others.  She believes communication is the greatest gift that we have besides prayer when it is used to the glory of God.  Her favorite Scripture is Psalm 19:24 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer;” and her favorite saying is “To God Be the Glory for the things He has done.”
